ICYMI: general membership feedback survey and opening for board members!
HI Gator families-
Hope the school year is off to a great start! I wanted to flag some important things that came through in a recent email form the FKP board.
First off, they are soliciting member input in a survey! Importantly, they ask questions about swim team use of the pool (which is the board's decision). Please participate in the survey and make your voice heard. It doesnt specify a date for when the survey will close, so please try to do it ASAP. Here is the survey link.
The email also covered two more important items (pasted verbatim):
- The Annual Member Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 16th at 7:30 pm. This is an opportunity for members to meet with the Board to hear a wrap up of the 2025 season as well as plans for the 2026 season, discuss ideas, and ask questions. Meeting Location will be sent at a later date, once confirmed.
- As we do each year, we are soliciting nominations for (3) NEW Franklin Knolls Pool Board Members. (3) of the (9) Board Member positions come up for election annually. Board Members serve a three-year term. Information related to Board Member roles and responsibilities is located here.
Nominations are due to a Non-Board Member Volunteer (Ashley Marchionini) prior to the annual meeting on November 16th, 2025. Her email address is [email protected]. You are asked to provide a brief bio to be used for the membership vote. You also should plan to attend the annual meeting as candidates will be asked to introduce themselves.
Each year, the election is administered by 3rd party polling. If you have any questions about the process or your status as a candidate please reach out to either Ashley Marchionini or Board Secretary Ben Conrad.
The vote to elect new Board members will commence shortly after the annual meeting and will be open for a period of one week with the aim of having the new Board seated by the end of November.
We highly encourage Gator parents to consider running for a seat on the board, as we work hand in hand with the board each summer to make our summer at the pool great. If anyone is interested but feeling a bit uncertain, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss. I could also connect you with current board members to understand more about the scope of the role.
Best,
Ingrid (+ Tracy and Jenny)
