B Meet Wednesday with NWB
We are excited to host our first home B Meet of the season against our friends from Northwest Branch! The theme is buddy groups. The google signup has the themes and here are the buddy groups for your reference. If your group did not come up with a theme, please wear your best GATOR GREEN gear! Please arrive at the pool in your swimsuits at 4:45. We will change into costumes after warmups.
REMINDER: If you haven’t already declared availability for Saturday’s meet, please do so now!
Schedule:
- Franklin Knolls warmups — 5:00 - 5:20 pm
- Northwest Branch warmups — 5:25 - 5:45 pm
- Officials meeting — 5:30 pm
- Timers Briefing — 5:45 pm
- Time Check — 5:55 pm
- Begin Meet — 6:00 pm
Parking
We ask that our families NOT park in the parking lot to allow NWB to use the spaces. They offer us the same courtesy when we swim there, so appreciate everyone following this. When parking in the neighborhood, please allow plenty of space for driveways, and sidewalks, as well as room for passing. Please do not park where the cones are, as it is an emergency egress that needs to stay clear. Also, please DO NOT park in McAlpine Court. Cars will be ticketed and towed. Thank you.
Team Area
Our team area is behind the diving board, to the left of the lanes, and the tables on the pool deck by the lifeguards. We can also use the area on the basketball court. NWB’s team area will be in the grassy area behind the slide and the area to the right.
Concessions
Smokey Joe's will be grilling and selling concessions including burgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs. Cash and Venmo are accepted.
Meet Program
Programs will be emailed late Wednesday afternoon. Families should print their own copies if they would like to have one. We will be starting the meet with Freestyle and ending with IM.
It will be VERY HOT. Please bring cooling towels, and lots of water/gatorade/electrolyte drinks. We will have water and gatorade for sale but want to make sure that no one gets overheated.
We would like to caution families against bringing any family members who might be extra susceptible to heat - very small children and older grandparents may want to sit this one out. PLEASE look at the weather NOW and make a decision about the meet and let us know ASAP if you plan on not coming due to the heat.
If your child is not feeling well and needs to scratch, please let me know as soon as possible. You can email during the day, but text is typically the best way to reach me in the afternoon after 3:30 pm (301-538-0448). (Reminder: Tracy will definitely be checking emails and texts throughout the day, but works full-time, so please be patient if she doesn’t respond immediately).
GO GATORS!
